Telehealth, or the technology-enabled remote provision of clinical and educational health care services, is one of the disruptive innovations that will CHANGE your life in health care (Glabman M. Managed Care. 2009:12-21). The Foundations of Telehealth program brings together the practical experience and lessons learned from two successful telehealth programs with the evidence, theory, and best practices from the literature to provide a unique combination of theory and scholarship that is grounded in reality. The program mixes lectures and practical hands-on experience with individual customization to meet participants’ particular needs. The program includes parallel breakout sessions with in-depth focus on clinical, technical, and administrative aspects of telehealth. Also, there will be an opportunity for individual consultation on participants’ telehealth plans and projects. The intended audience is practicing physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, administrators, and technical personnel who are involved in starting up a new telemedicine/telehealth program or service, or those who want to gain a broad practically-based understanding of telehealth theory and practice. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to design, build, and sustain telehealth programs and services, leveraging the joint experience of two successful telehealth programs.

Course Tuition: $1295 USD
